8/13/23 MHA Showcase – Keeps a really tight gap in all three zones. Allows him to be very involved in the offense in the OZ, and plays right in the forward’s grill as they try breaking out of the zone. That gap forced a lot of blue-line turnovers. Same thing breaking out of the D-zone. He comes up the ice as the team breaks out. Turnover happens in the neutral zone and opponent comes on the attack quickly. Grendel quickly forces a turnover at the defensive blue line before the opponent can even get going. He plays with really good speed and his hands and feet are working in rhythm. A fun to watch prospect at this level.
