Petey’s Pick: Sticking with Cranbrook here. I picked them to win this region pre-tournament and I don’t see any reason to waver from that. Cranes reach the quarterfinal rounds for the third straight year.

Saginaw Heritage vs. Flint Powers
Division-II, Region 12

Petey’s Pick: Sticking with Flint Powers. They’re the prohibitive favorite to win D-II, so by default they should win here and continue to win, especially considering Traverse City Central’s upset of Alpena in the opposite region.

Clarkston vs. Detroit Catholic Central

Petey’s Pick: It’s CC. I said this on the Bracketology podcast last week that I think Clarkston is playing well enough to keep it close for a while and make the Shamrocks earn it here, but the pick is, was and will be CC.

Petey’s Pick: If you’ve got a goalie, you’ve got a chance. So long as Boynton-Fisher is in net for the Reps, I ain’t changing nothin’ about my pick here and beyond.

Ann Arbor Huron vs. Livonia Stevenson

Petey’s Pick: Huron completed the three-game season sweep of cross-town rival Skyline to get to the regional final. Unfortunately, the ‘reward’ is the best team they’ve faced all season… by a lit. Still Stevenson.

Midland Dow vs. Traverse City Central
Division-II, Region 11

Petey’s Pick: The Trojans’ upset of Alpena opens the door for Dow quite a bit. TC Central beat Dow at the MIHL Showcase last month, but there were SIX total power-play goals in that game. More 5-on-5 hockey in this one and a better chance for the Chargers to get it done. Midland Dow.

Petey’s Pick: A 10-2 win in the Eaglets’ first playoff game was just the start of things to come. I’m sticking with OLSM, as it should continue to roll right to the D-III Final Four.

FNV vs. Big Rapids

Petey’s Pick: Big Rapids knocked off my original pick to win this region, and I’m more than happy to slot them in as my replacement pick. Cardinals have a chance to be the biggest surprise guest at Plymouth next week.

Petey’s Pick: Calumet altered the regional championship picture I had in mind, but I still think the result is the same. Gremlins get back to the state tournament rounds with a big win.

Plymouth vs. Canton

Petey’s Pick: Plymouth’s top three lines are more consistent but Canton’s trio of Schley, John Nickel and Cam James is more high end. Cobras extend the season for a few more days.

Mona Shores vs. Reeths-Puffer

Petey’s Pick: This was the matchup I wanted in Region 9 and this is the matchup we’re getting! I felt confident in my pick a week ago and still do today. Go Sailors!

U-D Jesuit vs. Dexter

Petey’s Pick: I’ll root for history, and for an inspiring Dexter team to win the program’s first regional title in history. But ultimately, I think an MIHL team of any caliber may be too much for the Dreads here. Cubs win.

Petey’s Pick: It was Trenton when the regions were assigned in the fall, and there’s been no reason to waver from that. Trojans by a lot.

Petey’s Pick: Not changing my pick. This is a bad stylistic matchup for the Eskymos and I just think Marquette’s forecheck overwhelms ’em in this one.

Petey’s Pick: Eisenhower’s less-than-dominant win over Anchor Bay in the regional semifinal was not very encouraging. Still not a strong enough reason for me to change my pick here, but the rest of this playoff run got a lot more suspect.

Petey’s Pick: This is a far more intriguing matchup than I initially expected in Region 2. I’m sticking with Jackson though, winning the program’s first regional title in over 10 years.

Lake Orion vs. Utica Unified

Petey’s Pick: I didn’t have either of these teams making it to the Regional Final so this is a blank slate. But I do love this Utica squad with an offensive tandem of Beels and Alexander Gorgievski that is very dangerous.

Brighton vs. Northville

Petey’s Pick: The matchup I expected with the result I still expect. This Bulldogs teams is maturing before our eyes and may not yet be a legitimate D-I title contender but this run will springboard them to being one in the future.

Byron Center vs. Caledonia
Division-II, Region 10

Petey’s Pick: I’m uber confident in this Caledonia group and I just think they get it done. Not teetering away from my initial pick in the least.

St. Clair Shores Unified vs. Rochester United
Division-II, Region 13

Petey’s Pick: The Lakers keep this game close, maybe even force overtime with that dangerous top line of Gersch and Gavin McKee. But RU survives and gets back to the D-II Quarterfinal.

East Grand Rapids vs. Lumen Christi
Division-III, Region 21

Petey’s Pick: I didn’t think a six-win Lumen team has a snowball’s chance in getting here. They’ve got a puncher’s chance, but in a lot of ways, the EGR matchup is even tougher than GRCC last week. Pioneers win.
