Tyler Boynton-Fisher Electric out of the Gate
Three Stars from around the State on Opening Weekend

Junior goaltender Tyler Boynton-Fisher stopped 20-of-21 shot attempts in the shootout rounds to determine a winner in the Bay Reps’ game against Romeo on Friday. He also made 32 saves in regulation time to help the Reps steal a gritty 2-1 win on opening weekend. Boynton-Fisher followed up that stellar performance with 30 saves the next night, in another 2-1 win over Saginaw Heritage. This earned him first-star honors in the North Region.
This week’s three stars from around the state:
METRO EAST
Ryan Dex scored a goal in Ike's 5-4 overtime loss to Stoney Creek. He followed that up with a two-point performance in a 3-1 win over U of D Jesuit.
In his first varsity game, Tommy Petroske scored a pair of goals in SCS Unified's 4-1 win over Anchor Bay.
Brody McNamara scored a goal and two assists in an opening-night win over Riverview Cabrini. His biggest performance of the week, though, came in a 2-1 win over Grosse Pointe South. McNamara factored in on both goals.
METRO WEST
Goaltending was the headline for Lumen Christi heading into the season. Yet, it was the offense making an impression on opening with with both Brodie Gregory and Luke DuMont earning five points apiece in a 6-3 win over Eastside.
Josh Corcoran made 30 saves in a shutout win over Eastside. He followed up that performance with a second victory later in the week over Canton.
WEST
Roman Barnes scored a pair of goals in Cap City's opening-night game against Jackson United; a 5-3 victory.
Gibson Grendel was "electric" in Central's rivalry game with Forest Hills Northern-Eastern. He scored a goal and added two assists in the Rangers' 5-2 win.
James Albers factored in on eight of his team's 14 goals, including six of seven in the 7-1 win over Riverview Gabriel Richard. Six goals and two assists in opening week.
NORTH
Tyler Boynton-Fisher stopped 32-of-33 shots in regulation time against Romeo. Then made saves on 20-of-21 shootout attempts to earn the Bay Reps a 2-1 win. He followed that up the next night with a 30-save effort in a 2-1 win over Saginaw Heritage.
Cole Kelly made 29 saves in a 1-0 shutout win over No. 10 Brother Rice. Marquette won the following night as well, defeating No. 4 Clarkston 3-2.
Gavin Winterstein scored a goal and an assist in a 4-1 win over Saginaw Heritage and recorded three assists in a 4-2 win over Romeo the next night.
